I am eternally grateful to the guides, interpreters and drivers who have helped me to get so much from my travels and have kept me safe. They translate my constant stream of questions and the answers that gives me the knowledge that makes every journey so memorable.
I thank you

I’m a Welsh born travel, portrait and documentary photographer, visual storyteller and educator living in Winchester in the South of England.
Following a career in hospitality I’ve thrown myself into my love of photography, travelling extensively in the Indian Sub-Continent, South East Asia, the United Kingdom, Europe and in Andalucia and the Iberian Peninsula where I had a bolt hole for more than twenty years.
I’m driven by my curiosity about people, their religions, traditions and cultures and at my happiest immersing myself with them at their festivals and where they work, live and play. Real people doing what they do every day, sharing their lives and emotions for just a few priceless minutes or days on end. I’m a glutton for information with a constant tirade of questions through my interpreter and I research extensively before and after travelling, always returning home enriched by my new experiences.
Now caring for my wife who is struggling with advancing Altheimer’s, travel is not as simple as it recently was. I now spend my lessoning free time adding to this website and educating myself with the changing technology - and photographing, mostly with my beloved iPhone, at every opportunity.
This website is not a showcase gallery of my best photographs, it’s about the photographs, journeys and events that are special to me. Many images were obtained in difficult and dangerous locations and in places where I shouldn’t have been. I like them all and I hope you will. If you have a question about anything you see or read here please ask.
